Aerodynamics
Focusing on design, manufacturing, and validation of the vehicle’s overall aero performance. Composites, a system under Aerodynamics, focuses on the composites manufacturing, such as sidepods and body panels, for our vehicle.
Brakes
The brake subsystem is responsible for safely decelerating and stopping the vehicle under all operating conditions. Primary objectives include: ensuring lockup on all four wheels during the brake test, optimizing pedal feel and modulation, and more.
business
The business subsystem prioritizes its focus on professional relationships. It runs the club’s sponsorships, fundraising, and establishing new partnerships. The subsystem is also tasked with developing and presenting a business proposal every year while fostering a fun atmosphere.
Electrical
Responsible for managing all electrical components of the vehicle. The electrical subsystem focuses on main power distribution, signal routing, data acquisition systems, and ensuring reliable performance and integration within the vehicle.
frame
Ensuring a collaborative design for the main body of the car that allows for all systems to be integrated within. Frame subsystem members also learn how design affects the different performance characteristics of the car.
Manufacturing
A collaborative subsystem that focuses on the production of parts of the car. Working with other subsystems, manufacturing members gain hands-on experience with lathes, mills, welders, and other tools to create a stronger and faster car every year.
Media
Creatively designing an environment that sparks the excitement for a motorsports team. The media subsystem is tasked with merchandise, livery design, social media management, and event planning duties.
Powertrain
Providing horsepower from the engine and transmitting it through the gearbox and differential to the wheels. This system holds a critical role in the performance of our car, making sure that all is reliable and powerful.
Suspension
The suspension subsystem focuses on keeping the tires planted through all kinds of corners and conditions, while working closely with other subsystems to make the car faster and consistent for the driver. Suspension also tunes the geometry, damping, and spring rates to get the most grip and control.
VEHICLE DYNAMICS
The vehicle dynamics team focuses on designing the suspension, steering, and kinematic systems to achieve optimal handling, balance, and performance. Our work involves defining key parameters such as geometry, spring and damping rates, and tire selection based on simulations, calculations, and design targets.
